Today's GMing tip: if you're running a tabletop RPG, and you have some completely crazy idea, like "what if I dropped the Embassy into the ocean"? You should totally do it, because it will be AWESOME.

The other thing this week that pleased me a lot more than I expected it to this week is that, after finishing off last week's data processing on Monday, I got to spend the last couple days mostly focusing on writing code. (I'm making an R package for bias correction using my new technique.) And that was really satisfying.

Mostly curious what game you could drop an Embassy into the ocean? And was the Embassy on fire or just bothering you?

Star Wars! It's on a planet where everything is on these big thousand-foot-tall mesas. The Embassy (which is was the PCs' home base) was on the edge of one of these mesas. Last session somebody blew up the Embassy's deflector screen generators so they could crash the big gala by flying a garbage scow in through the big glass curtain wall. This session, it turns out the explosions fractured the rock underneath the Embassy, and...
