Lots going on

Wednesday: stayed home. Jerry took the minivan up to Boulder to drop off a take-home final, then came home. Poor Greg spent two and a half hours getting to work, stayed for about two hours before they closed the office, then spent nearly eight hours on the road coming home. Left the office at noon, didn't get here until quarter to eight. Oy. His having a cell phone did make it a lot easier on us at home fretting; we could call him for occasional updates.

Thursday: stayed home. Dug cars out of the snow. Due to wind effects blowing around the building, the minivan didn't get much snow on it (well, except for inconsiderate neighbors shoveling things off their car and onto ours), and there was a spot on the street that has almost no snow that we shoveled a path to Wednesday so Greg could park the Jetta there when he finally got home. So it wasn't too much work to get things cleared. I started to feel lucky, but then decided that no, actually I felt competent for having thought to pick good spots.

Friday: I needed to go to work for my rescheduled meeting, so Jerry and Greg stayed home (didn't take too much persuasion) so I could have the car that goes in the snow. Had the rescheduled meeting (I even figured out how to make my phone do conference calls!) and got the grant proposal writing planned out. Need to have my part of it done by next Friday, oy again. Did a big pile of things, frantically. Went over to Chris's house in the evening for socialization and games. We played a pirate game (which soooo narrows it down, I know) that Greg won, and Draco & Co, which I found too chaotic even though I won by a large margin.

Today: opened some gifts this morning, so as not to lug everything up to Nebraska. Went to visit my grandmother, then to a Christmas party at friends-of-the-family's to see my stepmom & sibs & exchange presents.

Tomorrow: driving up to Mom & Larry's. Roads should be clear (they didn't get anything from this storm up there), but we need to double-check. Staying there Christmas day, driving back Tuesday morning so Jerry can run a kung fu class that evening.

Wednesday-Thursday-Friday will be busy busy busy at work, and then it's the long weekend and on the 2nd I'm off to Monterey for a workshop and couch-surfing in SF afterwards.

P.S.: I got spider-feet slippers. Squee!
