For a good chunk of the day, I felt like my brain wasn't really in gear. Then I took a long walk past the municipal airport, looking at parked gliders and a helicopter that kept coming in for a landing then taking off again, and when I got back I was able to (fingers crossed) finish in a couple hours the project that I thought was going to take all week.

It's hard to explain how you can accomplish more by spending the bulk of your time getting into the right frame of mind to code really well for one good stretch than you can by just trying to slog away at it all day long, but there it is.
