Just went for a walk to clear my head at work, and on the little trail that runs along the railroad tracks I ran across some milkweed. The plants were dried out and the pods split open, spilling the fluffy white seeds into the air.|
I don't think I've encountered this since I was a kid. The down is amazingly soft and silky, almost slick between the fingers. And the seeds fall so slowly, drifting gently downward through the chill October air.
Almost made me feel poetic.
