Work was closed yesterday, woo! It felt a little early for a holiday, I think because Christmas and New Year's disrupted the calendar so effectively. But I spent a decent chunk of the day feeling down and blah for no particular reason at all, so I'm certainly not going to complain. Since I was a tad wibbly, we had dinner at the Baker Street Pub up past 120th; I had bangers and mash with green beans and mac and cheese and it was pretty much exactly the comfort food I wanted.|
We had Gene and Cris come over on Sunday and play board games, which was lovely. Cris was originally not going to be able to make it, but then his plans opened up, so it was bonus fun to have both of them over. We played a few rounds of Dominion and a game of Mystery of the Abbey, and Jerry made Japanese curry for dinner. And then we chatted a good long while.
Today I got a box of triple-awesome from Barnes & Noble (the rest of my Xmas gift cards): Allie Brosh's Hyperbole and a Half; Ryan North's To Be Or Not To Be (the Choose-Your-Own-Adventure version of Shakespeare's Hamlet); and Cory O'Brien's Zeus Grants Stupid Wishes. They are all wonderful, wonderful books and I have already started rationing all three to make them last.
