Control Tower

A weekend

We just got back from Bob & Jeff & Douglas's, where they fed us dinner and we watched Sordid Lives. It's what I would call trainwreck dramedy. There's some humor, but mostly it's that what-the-hell-is-going-to-happen-next kind of show that's very compelling when it's done well. Before that we stopped by the Eagle for a bit to see 3-R's Ron, who is in town visiting. Got to see him and the other two Rs, and then a half dozen other folks we know who also showed up, so that was fun.

Yesterday I spent all day prepping for my Star Wars RPG. We had a big combat scene that didn't particularly go the directions I was expecting it to, but I rolled with it, and now my brain is mulling out the resulting plotline ricochets, and I think it'll be interesting.

Friday I left work early and we went up to Longmont to visit Sarah, who had gall bladder surgery week and a half ago. She is recovering well and we had a lovely visit. We played a bunch of We Didn't Playtest This At All, which is a very good card game for when you have little brain.

Sarah also loaned me Miss Manners Minds Your Business, which I finished earlier today. I didn't pick up much in the way of handy tips or anything, but it did highlight for me the degree to which everyone in my workplace is well-behaved. So I'm gonna just take a moment to appreciate my job. Thanks, Universe!
