Ladybug, Ladybug, Fly Away Home

Today I discovered a ladybug on my desk. I don't know how it got there, but there's nothing remotely like aphids in or near my office, so I coaxed it onto my hand, escorted it down five floors on the elevator, and released it outside on some plants where there's a chance it might find something to eat.

There's no particular point to this story, I just thought it would be a nice note to start out on.

Wow, it's been longer between posts than I thought. Mostly I've been just plugging away on my research for AGU. I've got the code that does the science all working, now I just need to finish running it and make a bunch of plots to see what kind of science happened. I also devoted a lot of my thinkjuice to prepping for the first run of Star Wars on our longer schedule last Saturday. Of course I *massively* over-prepared, but I had to figure out a bunch of backstory stuff to be able to ready the stuff that will come up in the next couple sessions.

Other social stuff: had Douglas over for dinner on Sunday. Played the first round of Pandemic: Legacy with Chris & Rose and Karen on Wednesday evening. We lost. (We got an epidemic halfway through the very first round, and everything was happening in just two regions. Doom.)

Tomorrow we are off to Seattle and Astoria! We're visiting Troy & Ron over the weekend, and on Sunday will be driving down to visit Jerry's mom. I'll be coming back on Tuesday, he's staying until next Friday. It should be a nice trip.
