It was actually foggy this morning, which is unusual. I slept through most of it.
Thursday was my grandmother's 90th birthday, and today was the surprise party. It was very nice. Got to see some family I haven't seen in a while. My Mom & Larry were there, too, which I'd totally forgotten they were going to be, and that was also good. My youngest brother, Loren, is learning Java, and had some questions, so that was cool. Gramma's foot has healed, and she's walking again, which is great.
Me: This is one of the first family get-togethers where I actually know everybody's name.
Mom: Why, attrition?
Kim told me at the birthday party that I-225 was awful today, so we took a different route down to Aurora for Ghostwalk this afternoon, down I-25 to Colorado Blvd and then on Evans/Iliff over to K&T's house. Which worked just fine, except that there was a detour sign on the offramp that said to get to Evans, we had to turn left on some other street instead and follow it around, and this was a TOTAL LIE. We followed the "detour" around and it took us in a loop right back to the intersection we'd just come from! My bitterness knows no bounds! Okay, maybe a couple bounds.
Ghostwalk was fun, as usual. We added a piece to our motto. It's now: "We're so sorry. It seemed like a good idea at the time." We're going to get WSSISLAGIAT painted on our equipment. We have a gooseneck stand for the iSight now, and it makes a big difference in how easy it is to let Rob see things. The dice were VERY friendly to us tonight. Karen (rolling for Rob's paladin) rolled a double-critical hit while smiting evil and then proceeded to roll max damage. Thomas was suitably disgusted.
Tomorrow I am off to Washington D.C.! I am going to the Serious Games Summit, which should be pretty cool, so don't expect any postings until I get back on Wednesday.
