I have new contacts! Everything... so... detailed!

Off to Nebrasker to box up stuff my parents are handing off to us and bring it back home. Including, um, a car. Which was not expected. Happily, it does not need to go in a box.

Before I forget, I wanted to mention that at Second Wednesday Gaming at the Floyds' this week, Jerry & Jeff & Bryan J. & I played Race for the Galaxy, because in the second game, I got this awesome engine going that let me get 10 victory points every two rounds, so everyone else was scrambling to catch up and end the game, and we ended in a three-way tie, with the other player only 4 points behind. (And it was only his second game!) So that's a pretty cool demonstration of the fact that it's a very nicely-balanced game.

But if the car did come in a box, I bet it would be a really cool one!

Harrison, population 300. Extreme upper left-hand corner. Closer to Denver than Omaha, actually.

Nice of them to include a transport means for the goods.

Excellent point. A friend and i passed one the other day. It was the 1st car i'd seen that made my 1st car - a '74 Super Beetle, seem ginormous.

You should see the Tango. I had a Super Beetle. I thought is was pretty comfortable, at least until the battery tried to set the back seat on fire...

Yeah, i eventually bought some fiberglass insulation for between the battery and the springs after it started shocking people on bumps in the still-only-partially-paved roads.

Wow. The Tango has less carrying capacity than a motor trike.

Cool, what did you get? I guess I mean to ask, wasn't your old pair ever that detailed, or did it start good and then the prescription change?

Anyway, enjoy it in good health!

Gas perms again. I don't think the old prescription was that off, but the contacts themselves were old enough that they had gotten warped and scratched and hazy.

Well, there are dozens of different kinds of gas perms, not to count the bunch of brands. One reason it could have been sharper would be if you had gotten the toric gas perms, for example. In my case it's often true that my prescription changes enough that I need a new pair every year or two (the prescription doesn't change that much, but it kinda drives me crazy and/or gives me a headache). But yeah, scratched and/or warped are common cases too when they survive a couple of years or more with me.
