Ah-ooo, werewolves of London

Not posting much because I've been writing fiction. It's weirdly hard to do both.

I watched An American Werewolf In London this weekend.

This is a movie that scared the pants off me when I saw part of it on network TV (so a censored version, even!) as a kid. I'm very susceptible to all the tricks filmmakers use to build suspense and scare you. And it was way, WAY too scary for me when I was, what, 10?

But it was listed as a favorite and a big influence by Them Guys What Make Those Films I Really Like, so I said what the hell, and decided to give it a try. And guess what? It's great!

What an entertaining movie! It's dark and tragic and gross and bloody and horrifying, but it's also REALLY FUNNY! Which, y'know, John Landis, go figure, right? But it was just... a lot more fun than I expected. I very much enjoyed it and would recommend it if you haven't seen it.

I feel like I've been made into a better movie-watcher.
