In lieu of an actual post, which would require thought that is in short supply because I am working on QCing the Canadian data as fast as I can, I'll hop on the poetry meme. Here's one of my favorite poems. Feel free to post one of yours in response...|
Résumé, by Dorothy Parker
Razors pain you,
Rivers are damp,
Acids stain you,
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren't lawful,
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.

I really like this two-line Samuel Hoffenstein poem (thanks to a concert that Dan & Daniel took me to)--I read it at Robbie Burns 2008
:When you're away, I'm restless, lonely, wretched, bored, dejected:
Only here's the rub my darling dear: I feel the same when you are near.
That one has been set to music, actually. Da Capo did it a couple years ago.
Another favorite. We both posted strangely hopeful poems tonight. yay us.
Yay! I can do inspirational and hopeful and uplifting and all that stuff, just so long as I get to be contrary, too.
I read this in freshman year of high school, and it's always been one of my favorites.
