Torchwood [Feb. 19th, 2009|11:08 pm]
We watched the first two episodes of Torchwood this evening. So far, I'd say the writing and acting is decent, not great, but the show is nonetheless very enjoyable. They do have a lot of lovely helicopter footage of Cardiff, used to good effect.

(I'm waiting with bated breath for the dinosaur-punching.)

While I'm no expert, I have seen two episodes that THRILLED me, in the Gay way!

YAY John Barrowman!

it's both very watchable and very mixed. some episodes are remarkably badly written; some are very enjoyable. i loved the first handful. S02E01 in particular brings the term "fan service" to whole new heights.

Torchwood's cocktail of bad and awesome is heady stuff. It's like if there were a series about cross-country death races with cars driven by burning zombies, starring Rick Astley, Denis Forest, Anna Nicole Smith, and the boys from The Adventures of Pete and Pete. You couldn't not watch it.

You've seen Barrowman's episode of Nevermind the Buzzcocks, right?

You can watch it on YouTube. He's <worley>faaaabuloooous</worley>.

To hell with the dinosaur-punching. It's all about Captain Jack and Ianto for me.

Especially Ianto.
