Bryree & Marty had a wedding reception this weekend, which was quite delightful, especially given that it was done on post-doc budget. Kinda low-key -- friends, cake, legos, board games. Very nice. I brought my laptop and Jerry was able to join in by Skype from his trip to Nara! That was pretty dang awesome.

And then Mom & I took my grandmother out to dinner last night, because it's her birthday soon. She's turning 95 (!). Interesting fact, Grandma no longer has fingerprints. They have worn off. Anyway, we had a very nice time, and it was great to get to see her. There's also a bit of a surprise dinner for her this coming weekend, so that'll be nice also.

There was a gathering to go see Zombieland tonight, and I dithered and eventually decided it didn't fit my mood, so I came home and watched my netflix'd Bourne Supremacy instead. I noticed, while watching, that I think I'm getting better at... hmm... I was going to say reading the unspoken, but maybe it's actually noticing more consciously when a movie is communicating information via shot composition and camera angles instead of via dialogue.

Finally, she can go on the crime spree she's always wanted.

Same for all of us, man. Gramma was nearly done for tax evasion during WWII. Although that's not so much criminal as being a giant asshole.

I would like to see it and wasn't able to. If you find yourself in the mood tomorrow night or Saturday, let me know. I will do the same.

And Marty says 'Hi.'
