Merry Christmas Eve!

kung_fu_monkey and I went up to Radium last night to visit Mom & Larry for a very nice Christmas Eve. My mom loves the Andy Goldsworthy book as much as I thought she would. I got kitchen knives. Kitten (they have a full-grown cat, whose name is "the kitten") decided to start sitting curled-up in a basket while we were there, making for very amusing pictures.

Today was not as cold and VERY bright once the sun came out. We went for a walk through the snow, and it was lovely and outdoorsey. Mom gave me a bunch of the really old christmas-tree ornaments (made by my grandmother, and by me when I was about five, and so on) to take home. We left Radium about 3:30 and everything went find on the drive home until we got to Silverthorne.

After dinner, we hopped back on the interstate and soon came to severe traffic blockage. It turns out there was some dire accident that closed the highway in both directions, and we sat parked in unmoving traffic for THREE HOURS before it finally started moving again. UGH! Didn't get home until 10.

Which would be a pretty sucky way to spend Christmas Eve, but then we decided to open all our presents tonight, so that balanced things out. I got Pocky! Really, what more can you ask for?

So Merry Christmas to everyone, and I hope we absorbed all the free-floating stuck-in-traffic karma. Drive safe tomorrow!

P.S.: The "post a movie of yourself lip-synching a song" meme, though it seems like it must be a conspiracy by someone who wants to increase bandwidth usage, is GREAT. I highly approve of all the efforts I have seen so far. I would do one if I weren't, y'know, incredibly lame. (And totally lacking in web-cammage.)
