Laryngitis is now SOP [Dec. 15th, 2011|12:19 pm]
So here's an interesting new twist on aging.

Apparently, my body has decided that the standard response to a cold, in addition to the usual tactic of completely filling in my sinuses with mucus in an attempt to prevent air, which might contain more cold viruses, from reaching my lungs, now includes shutting down my vocal cords once the cold has been fought off.

I have no idea why this would happens. Perhaps they need to be taken offline so that a squad of lymphocytes can do maintenance work on an important mucus junction box buried nearby?

Regardless. Today? I'm The Goddamn Batman.

Highly doubtful. There were 21,000 people at my meeting, all mingling closely and touching the escalator handrails.

I actually know of a half-dozen others who caught the ConCrud this year, so unless I managed to be Patient Zero, Tom is absolved.

Gah. My body has always taken this tack, and it's awful. I was hoping to grow out of it, but doesn't seem to be working.

Curse you, immune system! Except when you do a good job.
