Beemer
We are surfing through the Netflix streaming selections.

Me: Ooo, is that Buck Rogers?

Monkey: Shall we watch an episode or two?

We watch the first half of the pilot.

Me: Well, that's actually not as bad as I was--

Episode: End credits song starts to play

Both: OH SWEET JESUS WHAT THE HELL IS THAT.

Next episode plays

Me: Well, still, the technobabble isn't so--

Episode: Space Disco!

Both: Oh god.

Episode: Romance from nowhere!

Me: I can't watch.

Episode: Really lousy fisticuffs!

Monkey: It doesn't work like that!

Episode: Terrible dialogue!

Monkey: I blame you.

Me: That's fair. That's fair.

Netflix: Next episode starting in 10, 9, 8...

Both: TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF TURN IT OFF!

Colonel Deering had no less than four different hair styles of varying lengths in those two episodes. I was annoyed at the inconsistency.

Despite having interstellar flight, advanced medicine, robotics, and establishing a near flawless global defense shield, no one seemed to have kept any history books or literature.

Buck couldn't fight his way out of room full of preschoolers and was a bad dancer. Really bad.

That ending song borders on being a crime against humanity. Utterly irredeemable.

I think that I'll mentally rewrite whatever ending they had for the series to something like this: Buck's adventures in the 25th century are nothing more than his dying hallucinations while freezing to death in space. Shades of "Eternal Sonata," yes, but entertainingly fitting and more believable.
