Last Tuesday I had to finish revising the NASA proposal and hand it off to our Authorized Organizational Representative who fills out all the boilerplate and then submits it online, which means that I am Done With It Forever, hooray!

Since then I have been mostly working on data analysis for this Texas project, and I would complain about the fact that I stayed up until 3 last night rejiggering the data structures I'm using, except that I stayed up so late working on it because it's interesting and I did actually make some good progress.

Not a lot else of note going on lately. It was a gaming weekend; Star Wars Saturday night, D&D Sunday. I have also been (re-) reading a number of things lately: a couple Diskworld novels (Thief of Time and Going Postal), Bujold's Chalion trilogy, and the Culture novel I mentioned previously. I have a huge pile of new books to read, but when there's lots of mental effort going into work and creative projects, I guess I sometimes just don't have any energy available to invest in entertainment where I don't know exactly what kind of emotional payoff I'm going to get from it.

This. So often this - "I guess I sometimes just don't have any energy available to invest in entertainment where I don't know exactly what kind of emotional payoff I'm going to get from it."

Yes. This. I know I'm in a tired state when I start re-reading Steven Brust or Bujold or start re-watching Buffy. Which is what I've been doing for much of the past month. :)
