I think I just got a handle on a tricky part of the game content. (To wit: the consequences of turn 3 depend on what proposals they pick to solve the problem, and it's not whether the proposals address the problem partially or fully, as I'd been thinking; it's whether they address the underlying problem or the economic consequence.)

Latex paint fumes filling the hallway (but not my office) aside, it's somehow always surprising to me effective it is to think about a tricky problem while moving around instead of sitting still.

What do you mean, "paint fumes...aside?" I've done some of my best thinking under the influence of paint fumes, (accidentally of course). At least, I think I have.

er...rather...please disregard the above - Kids, wholly sober thinking is the only way to go. And don't play with fire.

You might be missing the "Uncle Screwtape," boat with your revised advice... ;)

Hope you are doing well, and the various tensions in your life are easing. And, since I'm unlikely to see you before you head off on your adventure, safe trip. I'm not sure If I'm allowed to tell you to "break a leg," since I seem to have jinxed that one.

Ahhhh, but you see, the object is the best way to get them to do it; not to give bad advice ;-y

Thanks for the well-wishes. RE: the leg: Perhaps it was that no one had told you "break a leg." Ever think of that? huh? huh?

I'm sure I'll have access to the intarweb there, so I'll have not much of an excuse to not be in contact by LJ if nothing else.

True enough...

I guess you might be correct, re the "breaking of my leg," but the director of that show e-mailed my with news of her current show, and told me I wasn't allowed to tell her to "break a leg."

And, if you could, when you have such information, an e-mail with your snail mail addy in AK would be appreciated in these parts. You know, for um, sending stuff... ;)

It seems possible to me that in the hunter-gatherer brain we have, being in motion might cause certain parts of the brain to become more active as you would be moving into possible attacks of opportunity, and different types of solutions might be needed.

That's a very interesting idea!
