Loan me your eyes

Hey, all tyou visual-artist/designer/photographer types out there:

I found an image I'm going to use in my game (for work). You may or may not be able to see it here:
https://www.fin.ucar.edu/ucardil/Orders/GetMetaData.jsp?imgID=4288

The picture seems kinda blue to me. I think it's an old photo (ca. 1969) that was scanned and has faded a little. I'm going to play around with color balance before I stick it into my program.

My question is, do you have suggestions besides just decreasing the amount of blue? Should I be adjusting mid-tones differently than shadows or anything like that? (And do you have any suggestions for how to make it look more like it's from someplace along the Gulf Coast instead of Colorado?)

Thanks!
